Reading & Writing across the Curriculum: Strategies for Building Literacy and Content Knowledge
Teachers don't have enough time to teach all the literacy skills students need to master in a ninety minute literacy block. Science, math, and social studies are excellent opportunities for giving students practice in literacy while using these reading and writing strategies to build content knowledge. In this session, participants will walk away with reading and writing strategies they can use before, during, and after content area lessons. These strategies will equip teachers with tools they can use across their school day to develop literacy and content areas.
