AboutĀ Michelle
Michelle Harris has spent 30 years as an educator serving students, teachers, and families in three states as an elementary and middle school teacher, instructional coach, and administrator as well as multiple states, countries, and continents as a consultant.
Michelle is a seasoned staff developer, certified in multiple Training of the Trainer programs such as Sheltered Instruction, Data-driven Decision Making, Effective Teaching Strategies, and Non-Fiction Writing.Ā She worked for Jim Knight and Instructional Coaching Group from 2012-2025, facilitating workshops, coaching, and keynoting across the United States and Canada, as well as in multiple European countries, Asia, and Africa.
During that time, Michelle partnered with Jim Knight, Sharon Thomas, and Ā Ann Hoffman to author The Instructional Playbook: The Missing Link for Translating Research Into Practice and Evaluating Instructional Coaching: People, Programs, and Partnership and with Jim Knight, Amy Musante, and Jessica Wise to author The IC Toolkit.
Michelle lives in Portland, OR with her husband, two sons (who are now both away at college), a cat, and one small corgi.
