Nakeisha Washington, Founder and Executive Director of Nyla Nyla STEMversity and is committed to blending her academic, professional and personal experiences to help families accomplish their goals. For the past twenty years, she has worked in the field of education in many different leadership roles as an assistant principal, classroom teacher, curriculum developer, private tutor, STEM competition coach, ESOL instructor, mentor, grant writer and program coordinator and these roles have further solidified her passion to helping children to accomplish their dreams.

The mother of two college level sons but found herself in an interesting predicament soon-to-be empty nester learned she was going to be a mother once again. In all efforts to prepare to welcome her daughter Nyla Denae’ and to take in consideration of her future she decided that she wanted her to grow-up with great potential and to be equipped with the skills and tools needed to be successful in a global, 21st century world. In fact, this became her vision and passion for all learners that is why she created Nyla Nova STEMversity.

Nyla Nova STEMversity is nurturing Indiana’s new generation of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) leaders. Nyla Nova STEMversity’s philosophy revolves around interactive learning experiences, going beyond traditional classroom settings to spark a passion for exploration. Their programs, catering to ages four and up (including adults), encompass diverse offerings, from engaging after-school programs and weekend workshops to exciting summer camps and birthday parties. Whether building robots, dissecting ecosystems or coding creative video games, every activity is designed to foster critical thinking, problem-solving and collaboration skills.
