About Nita
Nita Creekmore is an experienced educator and instructional coach consultant based near Atlanta, GA, with over 21 years in public education. She spent 13 years teaching elementary school and seven as an instructional coach. She also served as a presenter and coach for Bright Morning Consulting. Currently a 5th grade literacy educator, Nita champions relationship-centered, culturally responsive teaching and is passionate about impactful uses of inclusive texts in classrooms. She co-owns Creekmore Conversations with her husband, Michael Creekmore, Jr., and co-authored Every Connection Matters. Her latest book, Read Outside Your Bubble: Expand Your Bookshelf, Expand Your World, was released in March 2025. Nita enjoys yoga, writing, reading, and spending time with her husband and their four children, and she prioritizes self-care in her educational journey.

Read Outside Your Bubble: Using the LEAP Framework to increase Student Engagement
In this session, Nita will explore the critical importance of stepping outside our bubbles (our comfort zones) to effectively integrate diverse literature in every aspect of teaching. She will also dig into the impact this has on increasing student engagement and learning outcomes for students.
